Welcome to the Sesostris Shrine Center
Welcome to the Sesostris Shrine Center!
Sesostris Shrine has been providing quality community services and helping children since our founding in 1888. Our beautiful new facilities opened in 2008 on Highway 77 at the intersection with Saltillo Road, Lincoln, Nebraska.
Founded in New York City in 1872, Shriners International is an international fraternity of approximately 525,000 members who belong to Shrine Temples throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and Panama. Sesostris Shrine Center boasts nearly 1,100 members in Southeast Nebraska. Sesostris Shrine is composed solely of Master Masons.
The Shrine is best-known for its colorful parades, Shrine Bowl football and soccer all-star games, the Shrine Circus and its distinctive red fez. We support our official philanthropy, Shriners Hospitals for Children, which is often called the heart and soul of the Shrine.
The red Fez with a black tassel, the Shrine's most distinctive symbol, has been handed down through the ages. It derives its name from the place where it was first manufactured - the holy city of Fez, Morocco. The Fez was chosen as part of the Shrine's Arabic (Near East) theme, around which the color and pageantry of the Shrine had developed.
